Kevin Smith’s ‘Red State’ Screened at Wrap Party, Aiming For Sundance

Kevin Smith has completed a first cut of his upcoming independently produced horror film Red State, and screened the film for the cast and crew at the Wrap Party. This is an extremely unusual occurrence, but Smith has been editing while he shoots and the movie doesn’t require a lot of post work. Smith tweeted the following bit:

Tonight’s historic: at our RED STATE wrap party, the cast/crew will watch the flick from end-to-end, edited: 92 mins, 98 w/credits. #Cutter

This is what I love about Kevin Smith, he’s always on the cutting edge of technology and marketing. This is why he has a huge following.

Reunited: ‘Young Adult’ by Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman

Juno was great, and Jason Reitman hasn’t made a bad film so far — so this will be a must see.

As we’ve reported on the quick pre-production and casting of Young Adult, written by Diablo Cody and to be directed by Jason Reitman, there has been no studio involved. But with those two behind the camera and Charlize Theron in as the lead, it didn’t take much to assume that someone would bite quickly. Now Paramount has bought rights to the film.
